60th Anniversary today - I was baptized 9-01-56
by Bonnie_Clyde in60th anniversary – i was baptized 9-1-56 .
my parents weren’t witnesses at the time, but my witness uncle studied with my brother and i. i think the only reason my parents let him was because my brother was having mental issues and were hoping it would help him.
my father surprised me a few years later, started studying and was baptized in 1961, later appointed an elder.

CLAM Video: Aug 22-28 2016 – “Jehovah Will Care for Our Needs”
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inthis video showed a married brother with three children living in a nice domicile and working full time.
his employer demands that he change his working pattern such that it conflicts with his being able to attend wt meetings at the weekend.
the brother decides not to yield to his employer’s demand and is thus dismissed.. the brother seeks for work very actively over a significant period but without any alternative being found.

I'll bet this scripture isn't mentioned in the org's video-nasty;
(1 Timothy 5:8) "Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith."
Get your priorities right!

December Study Watchtower - Preparing to Reveal a New Light?
by The Searcher inthe jw/wtbt's anti-scriptural & anti-christ teaching that "a person's own death wipes out their sins" (based on their lie that romans 6:7 is to be interpreted literally) appears to have had a little wedge inserted into it.
despite making numerous accurate references to the fact that 1st century christians had figuratively died to sin, the svengalis at the top of the brooklyn pyramid point-blank refuse to discuss/cite/quote romans 6:7 and its true meaning.

prologos - the JW standard response for Romans 6:7 is to say that since the wages sin pays is death, then the individual has paid the price for their transgressions. True, scripturally death is the consequence of sin.
Now ask the JW, "Where does it say that death provides forgiveness & acquittal for the sins committed? Speaking scripturally again, this is where the ransom provides the forgiveness & reconciliation - not the individual's personal demise.
fisherman - the figurative context of Romans 6:7 is pretty well established by the surrounding verses - 2,4,6,8 & 11, but the org refuses to acknowledge the connection.

Welcome Betty. Sorry to hear of your distress.
As Cofty asked, why do you want to be reinstated? Is it for family reasons, or do you really believe J.W.'s have "the truth?"
If it's only for the latter, then please review some of my recent posts which compare the org's teachings with what the Bible really teaches.
I hope you do some research while you're here, and gain a lot of help with your situation.

Should I talk to elders?
by Chook inthe whole world is rigged, whether its religious tribunals or local police enforcement, those who are paid by god or government are the enforcers .
should you talk to elders... well imagine that brooklyn had ordered these men to df anyone who says anything against the slave.
do you stand a chance , religious zealots are the most ruthless throughout history, look into it , it's scary to think we believed a magazine that we thought came from god .

LANDY - How can you say that it's easier to agree with everything they say? :) :) :)
Maybe some could, but I certainly couldn't.
However, as a word of warning, I've been informed of a recent case where a family politely declined their elders' offer to talk about a personal situation. Taking this rebuttal as a personal insult to the elders' "authority & power," they gave a marking talk against the family, and their shunning outside the K.H. continues.
The scumbags will do whatever they want to try and force you to submit to their "
theocraticdemonic arrangement." -

Yes - definitely talk to your elders!! And here is exactly what you should say to them:
"Thank you for your concerns brothers, but I have private & personal issues which I can't discuss with anyone at the moment, but I certainly appreciate your motives and concern. If things change, I will call you. Thank you for your offer".
If they say, "We only want to come and give you encouragement." Simply repeat the response above - especially the phrase "private & personal."!
If they come back at you with, "But how can we help you if you won't talk to us?" just reply, "Everyone has private & personal situations which they can't discuss with others, and I'm sure that includes the elders - I'm no different!"
If they try to threaten you with "Are you refusing to talk with us?", respond, "No, I just don't want to discuss things right now. I'll call you if things change."
If they try to push you, just say 'thanks' and walk away immediately!
Do not prolong the interrogation. They can't punish you for ending a conversation!

Is this the last chance for inactive and df'd ones?
by innerpeace inhi all, just wondering if there's anything going around about the elders receiving instruction from the society to give inactive ones and disfellowshipped ones one last chance to come back?
i ask because i have a still in family member that i received a message from, and urging me to go back.
the elders are apparently saying there is no time left.

Just as the org implied/inferred/alluded/suggested that 1975 could see Armageddon kicking off - but never said it in outright language in the literature, (AFAIK) they appear to be doing the same regarding inactive ones.
Their propaganda seems to be inciting some active J.W.'s to assume that inactive ones are now no better than df'd ones and should be treated as such. Of course the org would deny any connection to such a teaching, while rubbing its hands in glee.
JW's could soon emulate the McCarthy witch-hunts.

prologos - I appreciate that many here have no interest/belief in the Bible. I'm simply trying to show any JW's/lurkers that from a purely scriptural perspective, what they're being fed regarding Romans 6:7 is a blatant lie. Whether it's factual or not, is not my reason for highlighting it - I dearly wish to let others see that their self-appointed governing body in Brooklyn are religious charlatans.
